🍸👗 [read on for full story] Does anyone in Seattle want to take me shopping? Client or colleague, I don’t care. Only requirement is to have a good eye & good taste. I just posted three (highly sincere) comments in a row, on various providers wardrobe choices. It reminded me how desperately in need of new clothes I am. I feel like, though an excellent editor, I am not a gifted creator. I can recognize, with great specificity, why something is good. Or how to improve it. But, conjuring up something from scratch, I struggle so much. I think it surprises a lot of people to learn that about me-the general lack of creativity. Being a lady & in this industry, I think it’s assumed we all love clothes and shoes and are naturally stylish … but, I am at least one exception, to this stereotype. On top of being entirely devoid of vanity, I’m pathologically driven toward comfort and practicality. I’ve gotten away with this shortcoming by being the most interesting person in the room, not bad looking and great in bed. But I think… the time has come to invest in some quality and timeless pieces. Dressing well, while never going to be the way I express myself or derive my confidence, I do think is a way of showing respect for company and occasion. Ok- who wants to pick out things for me try on, follow up with brutally honest opinions & end with martinis?? 🍸👗

So strange to me to see people wondering out loud, why a man of means, would end up in a specific set of recent circumstances. Some men fetishize the stereotype of what they imagine/believe/want a sworker to be. They enjoy other people’s desperation and the idea that these women “have” to see them/do what they want. They ironically and mistakenly believe that avoiding screening and going into a less public (even if it means unsavory) location, provides them safety and anonymity. He has no interest in the experience of seeing someone with agency or having a conversation of any kind. The lingerie and hotel weren’t out of reach, he’s just a really bad person.

Everyone else: please buy me this adorable dress/bag/shoes Me: for the love of god, can someone please find me two replacement slats for my bed [that got lost during the move]. You don’t even have to buy them-just tell me where I can find them. But like… actually. I need two metal replacement slats for a king size bed & apparently this is the hardest query the internet has ever had put to it. All the options I can find entail replacing the whole bed frame and/or cost more than the original frame itself.

I have been bed bound for a couple days. More sick than I’ve been in a long time. Not ignoring anyone. Holding my phone up is too hard for me right now. Communications will resume when this passes.
