To stop Seeking billing you, go to Settings, then Memberships and billing, then Cancel subscription, and do it before you hide or delete your account; uninstalling the app does not cancel anything, and Seeking's official policy is that all sales are final.
Seeking (formerly SeekingArrangement) bills paid memberships on a recurring basis by default. Cancelling, hiding, deactivating and deleting are four separate actions, and they do different things. The steps below come from Seeking's own FAQ and terms, checked in October 2026.
The short answer
Cancel the subscription first, while you can still log in. Your Gold, Platinum or Diamond membership then stays active until the end of the period you paid for and does not renew. After that, decide whether to hide your profile, deactivate it (reversible) or delete it (permanent). Do not count on a refund: the FAQ says "All sales are final", and the terms allow only narrow exceptions, listed below.
Step 1: turn off auto-renew
On the website: log in, click your username, choose Settings, then Memberships and billing, then Cancel subscription.
In the Android app: log in, open the menu at the bottom right, choose Settings, then Memberships and billing, then Cancel subscription.
Seeking's FAQ says your membership "will remain active until the next billing period". Save the confirmation screen or email as proof of the date you cancelled.
If the charge came through Google Play. The Seeking Play listing carries an in-app purchases label. Seeking's own pages do not say whether app subscriptions are billed through Google Play or through Seeking. Check your statement: if the charge shows Google Play, cancel in the Play Store under Subscriptions as well. Google's help page is clear that "When you uninstall the app, your subscription won't cancel."
Step 2: hide, deactivate or delete
| Action | What it does | How | Source | Checked |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Cancel subscription | Stops renewal; paid time runs out normally | Settings > Memberships and billing > Cancel subscription | Seeking FAQ | October 2026 |
| Hide profile | Keeps the account but removes you from search and dashboards | Settings > Search and dashboard > Hidden | Seeking FAQ | October 2026 |
| Deactivate | Temporarily removes your profile, keeps your data; logging in again reactivates it | Settings > bottom of page > Deactivate or delete account | Seeking FAQ | October 2026 |
| Delete | Permanent: "Deleted accounts cannot be restored. A new profile must be created." | Same menu, choose delete | Seeking FAQ | October 2026 |
| Inactivity | Profiles with no login for more than 365 days are removed; account settings and contact emails are kept | Automatic | Seeking terms | October 2026 |
Two details matter here. Logging in to a deactivated account reactivates it, so do not log in "just to check" if you want it to stay down. And per the official billing FAQ (checked September 30, 2026), membership time does not pause while you are deactivated, so deactivating does not save unused paid days.
Even after deletion, the terms say Seeking "may still retain certain information associated with your account" for analytics, fraud prevention, collecting fees owed and enforcing its agreement. Deletion removes your profile from the service; it is not a promise that every record is erased.
Refunds: what the rules actually say
| Rule | What it says | Source | Checked |
|---|---|---|---|
| General policy | "All sales are final. We are unable to offer refunds for any purchases made on Seeking.com." | Seeking FAQ | October 2026 |
| Site outage | Pro-rated refund only if the website is offline for more than 72 consecutive hours | Seeking terms | October 2026 |
| Three-day cancellation | Residents of Arizona, California, Connecticut, Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, New York, North Carolina, Ohio and Wisconsin may cancel before midnight of the third business day after purchase; refund due within 10 days | Seeking terms | October 2026 |
| Disability or death | Pro-rated refund for the period after the disability or death | Seeking terms | October 2026 |
| EU, EEA and UK | Separate terms with exceptions for customers there | Seeking terms | October 2026 |
| Chargebacks | Members agree not to dispute charges with their bank; a dispute can leave you liable for the balance plus bank fees | Seeking terms | October 2026 |
| Google Play purchases | Google handles refund requests within 48 hours of purchase; after that, contact the developer | Google Play Help | October 2026 |
The terms quoted were last updated September 11, 2025. One third-party review (DatingScout) says Seeking refunds are reduced by the time used rather than refused. The official FAQ and terms do not support that, so plan on the official position.
If you live in one of the ten states listed and you act within three business days, use that right in writing and keep proof of the date. Outside those cases, the realistic goal is to stop the next charge, not to recover the last one.
What users report
Seeking's Trustpilot profile scores 1.6 out of 5 from 41 reviews. Billing themes recur: charges the reviewer says they did not authorize after a trial, distrust of the cancellation process, accounts suspended soon after payment, and refund requests that went unanswered. Reflex Media, Seeking's operator, holds an F rating at the Better Business Bureau with 48 complaints closed in three years (checked September 30, 2026). For the wider picture, see Is Seeking legit?.
Before you buy again
Prices rose on January 1, 2026, to $150 for a 30-day Platinum plan, $380 for 90-day Platinum and $375 for 30-day Diamond, according to Seeking's own announcement, and 90-day plans are billed upfront in full, so a longer plan is a bigger non-refundable commitment. Our Seeking pricing breakdown covers the tiers. If you are leaving for good, compare the options in best Seeking alternatives.
FAQ
Does deleting the Seeking app cancel my subscription?
No. Uninstalling the app does not stop billing. Cancel under Settings, then Memberships and billing, and if you were billed through Google Play, cancel there too.
Does deleting my Seeking account cancel billing?
Seeking's terms list deactivation as one way to cancel, but its FAQ gives a separate Cancel subscription step. Use that step first, keep the confirmation, and only then delete. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
Can I get a refund after cancelling Seeking?
Usually not. The FAQ says all sales are final. The terms allow refunds only for a site outage over 72 hours, a three-day cancellation in ten US states, disability or death, and separate rules in the EU, EEA and UK.
What is the difference between deactivating and deleting a Seeking account?
Deactivating hides your profile and keeps your data; logging in brings it back. Deleting is permanent, and you would need a new profile to return.
