Secret Benefits costs less if you open fewer than about 12 new conversations a month, because its smallest pack is $59 for 10 conversations, while Sugarbook's flat subscription of about $72 to $90 a month is cheaper for anyone who messages more widely.
The two sites charge in different ways. Secret Benefits sells credit packs, and a paying member spends 10 credits to unlock a conversation with each new person. Sugarbook sells a monthly or multi-month Premium subscription with unlimited messages. Neither shows prices without an account, so the prices below are third-party figures. Company, refund and app facts come from official pages and app stores, checked in October 2026.
The short answer
Pay per conversation and you pay for what you use, and the credits do not expire. Pay a subscription and every extra conversation is free for the month. The break-even point is roughly 12 conversations a month at Secret Benefits' smallest pack, and about 21 at its 500-credit pack. Women and sugar babies use both sites free, and Sugarbook gives free Premium to female students with a university email.

What it costs per month
The cost per conversation on Secret Benefits depends on the pack:
- 100 credits for $59 gives 10 conversations, or $5.90 each.
- 500 credits for $169 gives 50 conversations, or $3.38 each.
- 1,000 credits for $289 gives 100 conversations, or $2.89 each.
Light user: 5 new conversations in a month.
- Secret Benefits: 50 credits. You buy the $59 pack and keep 50 credits for later, since they do not expire.
- Sugarbook: one month at $71.90 to $89.95.
Heavy user: 40 new conversations a month for six months.
- Secret Benefits: 2,400 credits. Two 1,000-credit packs and one 500-credit pack cost $747, or about $125 a month.
- Sugarbook: $239.70 for six months on the third-party figure, or about $40 a month. DatingScout lists $299.95 for the same term.
At $71.90 a month, Sugarbook matches the cost of about 12 conversations on the smallest Secret Benefits pack, or about 21 on the 500-credit pack. Above that, the subscription wins. Remember that a Secret Benefits unlock is paid whether or not the other person replies.
What users complain about most
Secret Benefits. Trustpilot reviewers mainly describe profiles they believe are fake or inactive, messages that arrive and then require credits to read, and replies that never come after an unlock. Others report slow support and profiles that seem to come back after deletion. The company has not replied to recent negative reviews.
Sugarbook. Reviewers describe face verification that keeps failing, slow support, and having to email support to cancel. Some report verified scammer profiles that stay active. Positive reviews mention the price and the app's design. Read Is Sugarbook legit? for the full record.
Risk notes
- Credits you cannot use. Secret Benefits credits do not expire, but if you leave, unused credits are not a cash balance. Buy the smallest pack first.
- No refunds on Sugarbook. Its terms rule out refunds for any reason. Cancel at least 7 days before the next billing date, per its help center. Deactivating does not stop billing.
- Inactive Sugarbook accounts. Its terms let it close accounts that are inactive for more than three months, and unused credits are lost when an account is deactivated.
- Look-alike domains. Several look-alike Secret Benefits domains exist. Type the address yourself.
- Billing descriptor. Secret Benefits charges may appear as CCBill on your statement (third-party).
- Scams on both. Anyone who asks for a fee, a gift card or a "verification" payment before meeting is running a scam.
Which one to choose
- Choose Secret Benefits if you message a few people a month, want no renewing subscription, and like that unused credits carry over.
- Choose Sugarbook if you message widely, can accept a no-refund subscription, or qualify for its free student Premium.
