For most paying members Sugarbook is the cheaper monthly subscription in 2026, at about $72 to $90 a month against a reported $140 to $160 for SugarDaddyMeet, but SugarDaddyMeet has the more traceable operator and a working Google Play app, so it is the safer pick if you can live with the price.

Both are subscription sugar dating sites. On both, the paying side buys Premium to start conversations. Neither publishes its prices without an account, so the prices below come from third-party review sites and from member reports. The company facts, refund rules and app status come from the platforms' own terms, help pages and app-store listings, checked in October 2026.

The short answer

Sugarbook was founded in Kuala Lumpur in 2016 and is now run by Sovrnt Ltd. in Larnaca, Cyprus, according to its own terms. Its main draws are a lower monthly price and free Premium for female students who register with a university email. SugarDaddyMeet has run since 2007 under SuccessfulMatch.com, Inc., a Delaware company with an office in Vaughan, Ontario. Third-party sites still list it at $50 a month, but members on Trustpilot have reported paying about $160 a month since late 2025. Its homepage now describes it as "the most expensive membership".

Two conflicts matter. Sugarbook's monthly price differs by source: $71.90 at one review site and $89.95 at another. SugarDaddyMeet's listed $50 dates from older pages, while members report $140 to $160 a month, and the company's replies on Trustpilot have not disputed a rise. Full tables are in our Sugarbook pricing and SugarDaddyMeet pricing pages.

What it costs per month

Light user: one month to test the local pool.

  • Sugarbook: $71.90 to $89.95 (third-party).
  • SugarDaddyMeet: $50 if the listed price still applies, or about $160 if you are charged what members report.

Heavy user: six months of steady use.

  • Sugarbook: $239.70 on the third-party 6-month figure, or about $40 a month. DatingScout lists $299.95 for the same term, or about $50 a month.
  • SugarDaddyMeet: $144 on the listed 6-month figure, or $24 a month. No member report gives a current 6-month price, so treat $144 as a floor, not a quote.

Check the price at checkout before you pay. On both sites the plan renews for the same term unless you cancel. Sugarbook's help center asks for cancellation at least 7 days before the next billing date.

What users complain about most

Sugarbook. Trustpilot reviewers most often describe face verification that keeps failing, slow or missing support replies, and having to email support to cancel because there is no cancel button. Some say verified scammer profiles stay active. Positive reviews mention the price and the app design.

SugarDaddyMeet. The most common complaint is the price rise. Members report paying about three times the old monthly price with no visible change. Others describe bots, profiles that ask for money upfront, and reported profiles that stay up. About 23% of its Trustpilot reviews are 5-star, so the record is mixed rather than uniform.

Risk notes

  • No refunds on Sugarbook. Its terms rule out full or partial refunds for any reason. Deactivating your account or deleting the app does not stop billing.
  • A short refund window on SugarDaddyMeet. You can cancel within 3 business days for a refund. After that, fees are non-refundable. Its FAQ invites full or prorated refund requests, which is looser than the terms, so rely on the terms.
  • App-store billing. If you pay SugarDaddyMeet through Google Play or Apple, you must cancel there too.
  • Sugarbook's history. Its founder was arrested in Malaysia in 2021, and Google banned the app from Google Play from September 1, 2021 (Wikipedia). The outcome of the charges is not confirmed.
  • Verification is not a background check. SugarDaddyMeet's own FAQ says photo verification does not confirm income or criminal history. Use our steps to verify a sugar daddy is real on both sites.

Which one to choose

  • Choose Sugarbook if you are a female student who qualifies for free Premium, or you are a paying member who wants the lower monthly price and can accept a no-refund policy and a web-first service.
  • Choose SugarDaddyMeet if you want a long-running operator with a published address, an Android app, and a 3-day refund window, and you can pay a reported $140 to $160 a month.
  • Choose neither if you would rather pay per conversation. Our Secret Benefits vs Sugarbook comparison covers a credit-based option.
