Pick Secret Benefits if you want to message and choose slowly, and WhatsYourPrice if you want to skip the small talk and put a first-date offer on the table. Both sites sell credits instead of monthly plans, both let the receiving side join for free, and both score below 2 out of 5 on Trustpilot, so neither is a safe default.

The short answer

Secret Benefits is a conventional sugar dating site with a pay-per-conversation model: the paying member buys credits and spends them to unlock a chat with one person. WhatsYourPrice is built around bidding. A "Generous" member offers money for a first date, an "Attractive" member accepts, declines or counters, and credits are then spent to unlock messaging. The bid itself is paid person to person, not to the site.

The credit packs look similar on paper. The bigger differences are who runs each site, how verification works, and what you get back when something goes wrong.

Prices for both sites come from third-party review sites because the official price pages sit behind a login. Treat them as a guide and confirm at checkout. More detail is in our Secret Benefits pricing and WhatsYourPrice pricing breakdowns.

Where Secret Benefits wins

Credits that keep their value. Third-party reviews report that Secret Benefits credits do not expire. They are not refundable, but an unused pack does not vanish at the end of a month. Sources conflict on whether an auto-purchase option exists, so check your account settings.

Free verification that asks more of profiles. Verification combines an email and SMS code, a selfie and a live video selfie, all free. Sugar babies must upload 6 public and 4 private photos. The company also claims "100% verified profiles", but that claim comes from its own press release and no independent audit was found.

A lower-pressure model. There is no price tag on the first date. You unlock a conversation and decide from there. An optional "Top Admirer" bid (minimum 50 credits) exists, but it is not the core of the site.

Where WhatsYourPrice wins

A known operator. The WhatsYourPrice FAQ names W8 Tech Limited and related companies, and Reflex Media Inc in Las Vegas, run by CEO Brandon Wade, is listed as an operator. Wade also founded SeekingArrangement. Secret Benefits, by contrast, has no confirmed legal entity and three conflicting addresses.

Written refund rules. The official FAQ says credits are refunded only if the other profile is removed by an administrator or caught by the security system. There is no refund if the person does not reply or if a date took place. That is narrow, but it is published. Secret Benefits' official terms page could not be retrieved.

Cheaper packs and a paid ID check. Third-party pack prices run lower at every size. The $4.99 ID check gives a blue badge tied to a government ID, which Secret Benefits does not offer.

Faster intent. If you already know you want to meet, the offer system puts expectations up front. The homepage shows an average offer of $120. DatingScout reports a $5 minimum and typical offers of $25–50.

Red flags on both

  • Fake profiles. One Secret Benefits reviewer wrote: "Out of 50 maybe you get one real person." WhatsYourPrice reviewers describe a site "flooded with scammers", with profiles that accept offers and then ask for money upfront or refuse video chat.
  • Credits spent, nothing back. Secret Benefits complaints describe activity before a purchase and silence after. WhatsYourPrice complaints describe no-shows and cancellations after credits were spent.
  • Look-alike domains. Several typosquat domains imitate Secret Benefits (secret-benefits.site, secret-benifits.com, secretsbenefits.app). Type the address yourself.
  • Billing surprises. WhatsYourPrice reviewers report unexpected auto-renewals at higher rates, while third parties disagree on whether a subscription exists at all. Reflex Media holds an F rating at the BBB, with 48 complaints closed in three years, across all of its brands.
  • No income checks. Neither site offers income verification. Secret Benefits has no background check, and WhatsYourPrice's background check is optional.

Which to choose

  • You want to chat before you commit to a date: Secret Benefits. The unlock-then-talk model suits slower vetting.
  • You want a first date quickly and are comfortable naming a figure: WhatsYourPrice. Keep the offer modest until you have verified the person on video.
  • Corporate accountability matters to you: WhatsYourPrice has a named operator and a written refund policy. Secret Benefits does not.
  • You are a sugar baby: both are free for you. On WhatsYourPrice, ask for the free selfie check and consider the $4.99 ID check. On Secret Benefits, expect a heavier photo requirement.
  • Neither feels right: compare more options in our best sugar dating sites guide.

FAQ
