WhatsYourPrice is free to join, browse and make date offers; the main cost comes after an offer is accepted, when the Generous member spends credits to unlock messaging, and third-party price tables list 100 credits for $50 as of September 2026.
WhatsYourPrice works on "date offers". A Generous member offers an amount for a first date, and an Attractive member accepts, declines or counters. That offer money passes between the two members, not through the site. What the site sells is credits, which open the conversation once an offer is accepted. The terms, effective September 11, 2025, name Reflex Media as the company you contract with.
This page uses the official FAQ, terms and homepage first. Its public pages show no credit prices, so those come from DatingScout and are labelled third-party. Everything was checked in October 2026.
The short answer
- Free for everyone: signing up, building a profile, browsing, saving favorites and the gold Selfie Verified badge.
- Making an offer: costs the Generous member nothing until it is accepted, per DatingScout. After that, credits unlock the chat. The site has no published figure for how many credits one unlock takes.
- Attractive members: the FAQ describes the Generous member gifting the offer and allocating the credits. In that description, the Attractive side does not buy credits to chat.
- Optional extra: the blue ID Verified badge costs $4.99.
- Credit packs (third-party): 100 credits for $50, 500 for $150 and 1,000 for $250.

Where sources disagree
Credits only, or a subscription too? DatingScout's review says there is no premium membership and you buy credits instead, yet its cost page also describes a "premium membership" with unlimited messages. The official terms describe paid subscriptions that can renew automatically from month to month. One Trustpilot reviewer in June 2026 said their membership renewed automatically at a higher rate. The public pages show no product list or prices, so this page cannot say which products are on sale today. Check your billing settings after any purchase.
Refunds. The FAQ promises credit refunds in two cases: the other member's profile is removed by an administrator, or that member is caught by the automated security system. The terms say "all purchases made on the website are final", with exceptions for customers in the EU, EEA and UK. Both are official. Keep the member's username if you plan to ask.
Free messages. DatingScout says you can read the first messages in your inbox for free. The FAQ says conversations unlock only after an offer is agreed and the Generous member allocates credits.
Member count. The homepage says "Over 6.6 million members", using stats from November 2024. DatingScout estimates about 455,000 members (third-party).
What users complain about most
WhatsYourPrice scores 1.7 out of 5 on Trustpilot from 106 reviews, 87% of them one-star, and the profile is unclaimed with no company replies. The recurring complaints are members who accept an offer and then ask for money upfront, dates cancelled at the last minute after credits were spent, renewals at a higher rate than expected, photos rejected without explanation, and accounts banned and later restored. One reviewer estimated the cost at about $7.50 per contact attempt (user report). Reflex Media's BBB profile shows an F rating and 50 complaints over three years; that profile does not split complaints by brand.
Risk notes
- Money before the date is a red flag. The FAQ lists "Asking for money up front or in advance of your date" as a reason for suspension. Never pay before you meet; see sugar daddy asks for a fee or gift card.
- Credits are not a promise. The FAQ says credits are "not a guarantee that a user will respond", or that a date will happen.
- Sharing contact details ends refund rights. No credit refund is given once you have exchanged messages, swapped contact information or gone on a date, per the FAQ.
- Disputes can cost you the account. The FAQ lists disputing a W8Tech or 2BuySafe charge as a reason for suspension. Those names, rather than the full WhatsYourPrice name, may appear on your card statement.
- No mandatory screening. The homepage states that members "are not subject to mandatory background screenings".
- Legal limits. The FAQ bans using the site as an escort or to solicit prostitution. Laws on paid dating differ by place; read is sugar dating legal (not legal advice). If a match moves you to X (Twitter), check the profile in our Account Radar.
Who it suits
The free side suits Attractive members who want first-date offers without paying the site anything. It also suits Generous members who would rather pay only after someone has said yes, instead of buying a monthly plan up front.
Who should skip it
Skip it if you want to chat at length before agreeing to meet: the model puts the offer first and the conversation second. Skip it too if a price on a first date makes you uncomfortable, or if you need one clear refund rule. For every listed price, see WhatsYourPrice pricing. For trust questions, read is WhatsYourPrice legit, and to compare models, see WhatsYourPrice vs Seeking or Secret Benefits vs WhatsYourPrice.
FAQ
Can you use WhatsYourPrice without paying?
Yes, up to a point. Signing up, browsing, saving favorites, making offers and the Selfie Verified badge are free. To chat after an offer is accepted, the Generous member has to spend credits.
Do women pay on WhatsYourPrice?
The site uses roles, not genders. In the FAQ's description, the Generous member gifts the offer and allocates the credits; nothing in it asks Attractive members to buy credits to chat. The optional ID Verified badge costs $4.99 for anyone who wants it.
How much do WhatsYourPrice credits cost?
DatingScout lists 100 credits for $50, 500 for $150 and 1,000 for $250, updated September 20, 2026. WhatsYourPrice does not publish how many credits one unlock takes. One Trustpilot reviewer estimated about $7.50 per contact (user report).
Can I get my credits back if she never replies?
No. The FAQ says credits are not refunded when the other member has an active profile and simply does not respond. Refunds are possible if that profile is removed by an administrator or flagged by the security system, and the FAQ says to check your credit history for automatic refunds.
